Bexley Hall Columbus Master of Divinity Degree in conjunction with Trinity Lutheran Seminary

Bexley Hall and Trinity Lutheran have reverted to traditional semesters, with a January “Interim” month, where intensive courses are offered, frequently including travel abroad. Biblical languages are offered as electives, although Greek is always highly recommended (see below). Latin is offered at the Josephinum. Anglican Formation is required every semester, and Field Education during the Middler Year (though many students do more). Clinical Pastoral Education is not a seminary requirement as such, but most dioceses require it of their postulants.

Term before Junior Year: Intensive Greek Course (For those with diocesan requirements; credits will be counted but do not meet any requirements)

1This course will be the equivalent of Church History I at TLS, but the accent will be on the Patristic and Mediaeval inheritance of Anglicanism.
2Formation has been kept at 1 hour.  Attendance and participation are mandatory, but preparation is not time-intensive.
3Systematic Theology is an introductory survey; BH students will take a distributive Advanced Theology course (such as Anglican Divines) in addition.
4In this schema all the basic courses needed for ordination examinations (GOE/diocesan) will have been completed by the end of the fall semester of the senior year.

This listing of the M.Div. curriculum is not official. The official curriculum is published by Bexley Hall separately. Please contact Bexley Hall for further information.
